Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) Jos

Technology Incubation Centre, Jos was established in 2007 by the National Board for Technology Incubation in collaboration with the Plateau State Government. It started operations in 2009 with fifteen (15) entrepreneurs with viable businesses with a combined Net worth of N 15,553,966 and a turnover of N3.4 Million annually. Since then the Centre has grown considerably as it now has 22 entrepreneurs with net worth of over N110, 500,000.

The Centre is located at Angwan Dabba, Bukuru By-pass, Jos, Plateau State, and covers a land mass of 3.45 hectares. Some of  its facilities include; Administrative office block, 22 incubation units (with an additional 10 units under construction), mechanical workshop, Science laboratory, constant water supply from borehole and a steady power supply from NESCO.

Our entrepreneurs have produced goods that can compete with any product anywhere in the world. Some of them have excelled in local, national and international competitions. Products from the Centre are all over Plateau and in many parts of the country. Through these activities, over one hundred and fifty (150) direct jobs have been created to our youths in the state and Hundreds of indirect jobs.  Some achievements of the Centre

Nature Pride Black Soap Paste produced by IBY Roberts, a tenant company has been patented

Spectra Holdings, Teekaytronics, and Korrok Technologies and Nyalwat Technical Works won the World Bank Growth and Employment (GEM) project. Fast Track II Performance Window Grant of N 6.5 million each.

Packaging for products have been upgraded to international standard, consequently three companies namely, Three Prince Nig. Ltd, Bisbah Investment, and Spectra Holding have been certified for export under the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS).  

The Centre successfully organised a one week Community Incubation Programme for youths and women on Technology Transfer in collaboration with DADEMOH PROJECTS from 22nd to 26th July 2019. A total of 35 youths and women were trained on business management and entrepreneurship.

Mixed Haulers and Thresher machines modified agricultural processing machine fabricated by an Entrepreneur Nehemiah Bot.

 Power inverters of various capacities are currently being constructed by a new Entrepreneur, Dantronics (DanjumaIliya).Full Sine Wave.

 Jatropha curcas Biodiesel: Biodiesel is a result research into renewable and more environmentally sustainable sources of energy. Jatophacurcas biodiesel can be used as 100% diesel fuel or blended with hydrocarbon diesel in the ratio 80:20. The biodiesel has been tested and proven to be good for automobiles and machines.

 As a result of the very promising result from the research, Bio Resource, an American Company with interest in low carbon renewable energy solution systems procured machines such as Oil press, Hammer mill, Roasters, destoner machine, PET blowing machine worth N5,235,000.

PROCUREMENT OF PACKAGING AND LABELLING EQUIPMENT: the Centre has procured equipment to aid in proper packaging and labelling of products of entrepreneurs in the centre and the public.

Packaging for Products have been upgraded to international standard, consequently three companies namely, Three Prince Nig. Ltd, Bisbah Investment, and Spectra Holding have been certified for export under the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS).  Waste to wealth project Liquid fuel oil machine for converting polythene to liquid fuel oil invented Elbare R & D won the 2014 Seedstar Prize for the most innovative start up in Switzerland.

A Patent for “A process for electricity generation from water using a highly efficient catalyst based hydrogen fuel cell” has been acquired by Choji Bare an Entrepreneur in the Centre. WIPO PATENT 010814
