
The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) was established in 1992 as a parastatal agency under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. Its primary mandate is to promote and support the growth of technology-based businesses in Nigeria.
NBTI ESTABLISHMENT ACT
The programme commenced in 1993 with the registration of National Technology Business Incubation Foundation (NTBIF). The Federal government fully took over operations of the NTBIF vide the National Technology Business Incubation Foundation (Take-Over) Decree No. 5 of 1995.
Early Years and Establishment
The NBTI was founded in response to the need to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria. Recognizing the potential of technology to drive economic development, the government established the agency to provide a conducive environment for technology startups.
