The Central Working Committee (CWC) has paid a courtesy visit to the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), Dr. Patricia Uchenna Chukwu, in her office at the Head of Service Complex, Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
The visit afforded CWC the opportunity of congratulating the recently-appointed CEO and personally delivering a card to that effect.
Describing her in the message as “perfectly fit for the job,” ASURI eulogized her as being eminently qualified for the position.
The card says: “Your pedigree as a well-heeled Researcher, with publications and 11 patents, as well as membership of seven professional bodies, including the National Business Incubation Network of America, speaks volumes about your being adequately prepared for this national assignment.
"We have it on record that as an expert in internationally-recognized Technology Incubation Programme, you championed the establishment of many Institution-based Incubation Centres across the country, including the three Federal Polytechnics in Oko, Nekede and Afikpo.
“Your clear understanding of the terrain and the mandate of NBTI are well established and we have no iota of doubt therefore that your tenure will vindicate ASURI’s struggle and insistence on the appointment of home-grown Researchers as Chief Executives of RDIs.”
Speaking during the visit, Sec Gen Professor Theophilus Ndubuaku impressed the need on the DG to urgently work on getting the NBTI Bill passed by the National Assembly and be well prepared to play the enormous role which is expected of the Board in the implementation of the National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation (NPSTI) 2022.
The NBTI DG thanked the CWC for the kind words and all the encouragement.
The CWC team included Vice President Comrade Kassim Izebe, Treasurer Comrade Jessica Effiong, National Auditor, Comrade (Engr.) Stephen Badu.
