THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY VISIT TO TECHNOLOGY INCUBATION CENTRES AT PORT HARCOURT, OWERRI, ENUGU, ABAKALILI AND NNEWI

The Senate Committee on Science and Technology headed by Distinguish Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife Iyom has said that the National Board for Technology Incubation is a strategic Agency of Federal Republic of Nigeria. She went further to state that Technology Incubation Programme is a strong tool for the diversification of Nigeria's economy and needed more funding to perform optimally. Senator Ekwunife made this call while addressing journalists and Staff during an over sight/familiarization visit to Technology Incubations Centres at Port Harcourt, Owerri, Enugu, Abakalili and Nnewi.

NBTI SETS TO COLLABORATE WITH SKYLINE UNIVERSITY KANO

The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Skyline University Kano. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Sudhakar Kota stated this while on a visit to NBTI headqaurters. The Vice Chancellor said the aim of the collaboration was to deepen Students knowledge on innovation and entrepreneurship and to share valuable knowledge on Technology Incubation Programme to promote the innovative strategies for knowledge acquisition to be easier in Nigeria.

TECHNOLOGY INCUBATION CENTER LAFIA COMMISSIONED, TARGETS JOBS AND WEALTH CREATION FOR YOUTHS”

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu said the Technological Incubation Centres of the Ministry established across the country will supply the labour for new investments envisaged to come into the country in the nearest future.

Dr. Onu disclosed this during the commissioning of the Technological Incubation Centre last weekend 6th September,2019 in Lafia, Nasarawa state.

Dr. Onu said that the newly established Incubation Centres will help business/entrepreneur startups, from Micro levels to small, medium and eventually to large business enterprises. He stressed the need for these startups because every major business enterprise started at a micro-level.

ENTERPRISE IRELAND PARTNERS NBTI

Mr. Fred Klinkenberg African Director for Enterprise Ireland, has paid a courtesy visit to the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) on Wednesday 10/4/19 in Abuja

He said he was on a visit to familiarize with NBTI activities and to seek ways of synergizing to help promote the growth of SME’s in the country, he further added that Ireland has attracted 20% of the Dollar investment by America in Europe. He buttressed the fact that Ireland has four hundred (400) active companies in Africa.
