The Planning Research and Policy Analysis Department (NBTI).

The department of planning, research and Policy Analysis which is the repository base of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) is the heart and Engine room of this reputable Organization. It coordinates the activities of other Departments by formulating and implementing policies and programs aimed at achieving the Board’s mandate for the overall development of technology Incubation Program (TIP) of the country in a systematic integrated and coordinated manner.

 

The department operate through: 

  • Planning and policy Implementation
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Linkages and Collaboration with relevant agencies both local and international collaboration
  • Research and Statistics (R&S)

 

PLANNING POLICY

This unit responsible for the articulation, analysis, projection and implementation of development plans of the Board in term of the Technology Incubation System. It also performs the following: 

  • Preparation of the NBTI’s progress annual report
  • Preparation of Memorandum to the Honorable Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation
  • Preparation of Honorable Minister’s, Director General’s speeches and other policy matters of the Board
  • Analysis and implementation of Federal Government policies as they affect Technology Incubation Program

 

 

 

MONITORING AND EVALUATION

  • The major function of planning department is periodic assessment of the performance of the projects and programmes of the Board. 
  • Regularly monitoring, evaluating and coordinating the implementation of the project of the Board
  • The collection of both primary and secondary data for requisite Analysis
  • Collaborate with other Organs of the Government and donor Agencies to carry out its monitoring activities
  • Facilitates easy communication with Technology Incubation Centres

LINKAGES AND COLLABORATION

Planning department coordinates the Board’s participation in the implementation of Multilateral and Bilateral Cooperation Programmes of the united nation Agencies and other donor agencies with Nigeria in matters of Technology Incubation Programme.

2.0      DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES

  1. Preparation of NBTI’s progress annual report,
  2. Coordination of key performance indicators (KPI) of the Board,
  3. Linkages and collaboration with relevant agencies, both Local and international collaborations
  4. Monitor, evaluate and coordinate the implementation of the projects of the Board
  5. Review of quarterly report from Technology Incubation Centres to facilitate easy communication, and to acquire adequate information and monitor the activities of the Centre 
  6. Preparation of Memorandum to the Honorable Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation for Federal Execute Council 
  7. The department ensures that the Boards MoU with relevant Organizations for the benefit of the Entrepreneurs and the Board
