Muhammad Zarma

Muhammad Zarma is a COREN registered Engineer with over 25 years of cognate experience in  Engineering project management as well as development finance, he holds a bachelor's in engineering  degree in civil engineering and water resources Engineering, combined honors. BEng ( civil and water  resources Engineering) from the university of maiduguri.(1995 ) Muhammad Zarma also holds a master's  degree in industrial and labour management, from the same university of maiduguri ( 2000). Before  joining the NBTI as an assistant chief scientific/ program officer as well as the center manager of TIC  Maiduguri in 2005, he was a resident engineer with a consulting firm under the National highway, urban  roads rehabilitation projects of the defunct PTF, from 1996 to 1998, then rose from a projects planning  manager to the assistant general manager projects for a private construction company KDC construction  company in maiduguri from 2000 to 2003, in 2003 he joined an oil and gas company, oriental energy  resources limited as an operations manager in Abuja before joining the NBTI in 2005 as center manager.  

Muhammad Zarma served as center manager TIC maiduguri from 2005 to 2015 in various positions  from asst chief/ Engineer to the position of a deputy director and in 2016 he was promoted to be a  director and was posted to the zonal office in bauchi as the zonal director with all the six states under  the geopolitical zone with the zonal office in bauchi.  

In 2011, Muhammad Zarma was selected and trained among the over 200 participants to represent the  north east under a project aimed at supporting the development and growth small growing businesses  under the grooming enterprises leaders project and was among the seven that qualified to be  designated as the regional coordinator of the grooming enterprises ( GELs) leaders in the north east  region.

From 2012 through 2014, Muhammad Zarma was also made an independent monitor and facilitator of  a project to support and train youth with innovative ideas under the YouWin project and was charged  with the responsibility of ensuring the development of a blueprint for the capitalization of over 100  startups and spins offs within the north east zone of Nigeria, with emphasis on Innovation and talents  for young Nigerians. He co anchored the facilitation of over 80 start ups businesses and spins offs.  Muhammad Zarma also received training in development finance as well as entrepreneurship  development in the zone.  

In 2016, the CBN established the enterprise development centers across the country and Muhammad  Zarma was instrument to the designation of the TICs under the zone as EDP, enterprise development  partners with the CBN, a five year project aimed at supporting and funding enterprises that are both  within and outside the TIC ecosystem. He holds several certificates on development finance and is an  

expert in entrepreneurship development, he is at various times a resource person for the Nigeria society  of engineers professional development and membership where he teaches entrepreneurship in  Engineering. He also attended several courses in Nigeria and abroad.

Muhammad Zarma is a member of the Harvard business review group, the Nigeria UK business  development forum, AUTM professionals for enterprise development as well as numerous professional  bodies both in Nigeria and abroad.  

Muhammad Zarma is passionate about entrepreneurship development and has presented several  papers on enterprise development, mentorship, coaching etc, he enjoys traveling, reading and  adventure. Muhammad Zarma is currently the zonal director North east NBTI, regional coordinator GELs  project north east. He is 53, married with children.
